Frequently Asked Questions
Should you have any further questions or concerns feel free to read our most common question below.
What is the difference between a personal trainer and an exercise physiologist at our Toongabbie practice?
Our exercise physiologist treats patients with exercise interventions, from a medical standpoint for performance and injuries, whereas a personal trainer uses exercise for general health and fitness.
Can our Toongabbie exercise physiologists assist with supporting mental health?
Yes, this is used to support mental health. Exercise has been proven to improve mental health and mood, and reduce stress, depression and anxiety. Exercise improves physical health, which in turn helps with low self-esteem and confidence.
Is an exercise physiologist the same as a personal trainer?
No, they are not the same. Exercise physiologists are allied healthcare professionals with Medicare provider numbers and part of the medical sector. They focus on using exercise for injury recovery and disease prevention. A personal trainer is more focused on performance exercises to improve physical appearance.
